WHAT: Board of Education special meeting Thursday

PRESENT: Chris Brookbank, Scott Davis, Diana DeVito, Calvin Jones and David Malone

The board:

• Hired Sheri Noble as administrative assistant to the superintendent on a one-year contract effective Aug. 1. Noble, who previously was a high school secretary in the district, will replace Rochelle Landy;

• Approved one-year contracts for Diana Ghizzoni, as part-time budgetary clerk to treasurer, and Beth Russell, as assistant to the treasurer, both effective July 1;

• Hired Gerrord Hrusovsky as a seventh-grade social studies teacher and as the new athletic director; Tyler Rubesich as fifth- and sixth-grade intervention specialist; Charles Russell as a Success Center online teacher for grades seven to 12 for 20 students enrolled; and Courtni Johnson as a high school language arts teacher;

• Approved changing the position of Derek Gilcher from summer substitute custodial worker to assistant to support the One-to-One Chromebook program and miscellaneous IT support at $10 per hour, not to exceed 200 hours over the summer;

• Approved Kaleb Merrick-Neff as assistant to support the One-to-One Chromebook program and miscellaneous IT support at $10 per hour, not to exceed 200 hours over the summer;

• Rescheduled the next meeting for 6 p.m. June 28.
