Car stalls in flooded area of Pine Avenue

WARREN — A Warren Fire Department crew rescued the driver of a car stalled in flood waters just before 8 a.m. Tuesday on Pine Avenue SE near Roanoke Avenue SE.

“This area often floods during heavy rains, so the city places barriers to encourage drivers to take another route,” fire Chief Ken Nussle said. “There are always people that attempt to go around the barriers and sometimes their cars stall and we have to get them out.”

Nussle said drivers can face police citations if they drive past a barrier trying to make it through the flood waters. And, the driver likely will have to pay a tow company to get their car back.
