Niles’ special response truck receives makeover

NILES — The police Caiman MRAP armored vehicle got a complimentary makeover courtesy of Greenwood Collision / Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown and Signworks.

The truck, acquired in 2014 through a government surplus program, was previously desert tan but now sports a gray and blue scheme and the words “Niles Police.” The color and graphics change makes it compliant with SWAT standards, said Greenwood Collision Director Bill Jobe.

The vehicle is for a multi-jurisdictional Niles, Weathersfield and McDonald special response team for high-risk warrant services, active shooting situations and inclement weather rescues.
