Hydrant testing begins Wednesday in Howland

HOWLAND — The fire department and the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Office will be testing fire hydrants in the Howland public water system Wednesday to June 8.

Officials said the tests improve the water quality by removing stagnant water, sediment and excessive mineral deposits from inside the walls of the water lines.

Users may experience a temporary discoloration, which is not harmful. Customers can run cold water until discoloration clears. There may also be fluctuating water pressure during the tests.
