Howland splash pad planned
HOWLAND — The Howland Park Commissioners have approved seeking a $52,000 Ohio Department of Natural Resources grant for a splash pad for the main township park.
Park Commissioner Shawn Pompilia said the board is reviewing with architect Andy Bednar about adding a splash pad in addition to a new Tiger Town play area, which is scheduled for construction in June.
The township had the 20-year-old Tiger Town torn down because of safety concerns and plan to have a new play area constructed at the entrance of the park.
Also, there are plans are to add more security cameras after a Howland Rotary sign was stolen off the park pavilion. The park has cameras from ALC Security Camera Systems.
