Cleanups set in Girard, Howland

WARREN — Volunteers are being sought for community cleanups in Girard and Howland.

U.S. Route 422 in Girard is the subject of the fourth annual Girard Community Workday 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, beginning at Stambaugh Park on Moser Road in Girard.

Tools, supplies and lunch will be provided to the volunteers, who can RSVP with Lauren Johnson, 330-744-2131, Ext. 1216 or lauren@region

From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 22, officials and volunteers are meeting with the Howland High School senior class to pick up litter in the Golden Triangle area. Volunteers are meeting at Tecnocap, 2100 Griswold St., and will focus on Dietz, Bronze, Griswold, Paige, Dana, Larchmont, Phoenix, Commonwealth and Mill streets. Gloves, bags and safety vests will be provided by the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District.
