Bazetta park board to recommend fundraising moratorium

BAZETTA — The township’s park board is expected to recommend to trustees at their June 11 meeting that a moratorium be put on fundraising for maintenance and operations of the park after learning the general fund has been paying for, and will continue to pay for, the park.

The board still will pursue fundraisers for new improvements to the park, according to minutes from Tuesday’s meeting.

The board is also expected to recommend moving forward on an $1,800 inspection of the 24 year-old Imagination Station playground through the company Playgrounds by Leathers. The company will develop a plan to renovate or replace sections of the playground over the next three to five years, and the cost will be paid out of money raised for new improvements.

The next park board meeting is 7 p.m. June 18.
