Warren gets grant for body armor
WARREN — The Warren Police Department was among 300 law enforcement agencies statewide to receive $2.7 million in body armor grants, according to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
Warren received the maximum amount — $40,000 — under the Ohio Law Enforcement Body Armor Program, which is administered by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, a news release from Yost’s office states.
Other local agencies receiving funds are Mercy Health Police Department, $39,298.84; Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, $35,753; Austintown, $26,154; Howland, $19,691.55; Youngstown, $18,347.49; Weathersfield, $15,512.31; Vienna, $10,057.80; Hartford, $6,712.88; Champion, $4,197.38; Cortland, $3,540; Warren Township, $2,828.97; Niles, $1,811.25; Bazetta, $1,048.50; and Hubbard Township, $674.60.
