Trial date set in assault case
WARREN — A Warren woman accused of hitting another woman over the head with a chair during a September family reunion will go on trial May 4 before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice, court records show.
Jac’Quita R. Ervin, 30, 1432 Hamilton St. SW, is facing a charge of felonious assault. She has been at the Trumbull County Jail on a $15,000 bond since her arrest, court records show.
Ervin is accused of attacking Ciara Goliday, 26, of Berkshire Drive SE, during a family reunion at Packard Park, police reports show. The report states Ervin hit Goliday in the head with a chair and nearly stabbed her with a fork.
Goliday was bleeding “badly” after she was struck by the chair, was disoriented and had a hard time remembering her name and birthday, the report states. Ervin told police she was mad at Goliday after the two spoke about “relationships,” according to the report.
