WHAT: Howland Park commissioners meeting Friday

PRESENT: Shawn Pompelia, Jessica Gault and Allen Seman

The board:

• Announced the park’s new website, designed by MDI Studios for $975, will launch Friday. Pompelia said the site will include more information on the township’s parks and feature a new design. The previous site was located on the township’s website;

• Approved a credit card policy for the park for when people order engraved bricks online for the new Tiger Town playground area, now under construction. Last month, the board approved play equipment — an island helicopter, a junior sports car, drag race vehicle, and custom biplane — incorporated into the play area be constructed at the main entrance of park. Items were bid out with some from Park Place Solutions;

• Approved a rubberized surface for the playground area, which was part of the first phase of the Tiger Town project, at $194,341. The first phase also included play equipment for children;

• Approved installing raised gardens, handicapped parking signs and parking lines for the Bolindale DeForest Park.
