WHAT: City Council meeting Monday evening

PRESENT: Mayor James Melfi, councilmembers Reynold Paolone, John Moliterno, Lily Martuccio, Mark Ragozine and Fran Wilson

ABSENT: Councilmen William Ryser, Mark Standohar and Thomas Grumley

Council:

• Tabled all items until the April 27 regular meeting;

In other business:

• Ragozine reported a 45,000 gallon per day leak was found and corrected on Trumbull Avenue, saving Girard’s water system nearly $100,000 per year.

• Melfi reported the bid for the “Welcome to Girard” sign is being advertised again due to a lack of response;

• Melfi reported 127 Prospect St. was demolished at no cost to the city;

• Service director Jerry Lambert reported updates to the Todd Park restroom — new plumbing, toilets and sinks, electric hand dryers, lighting, electric hot water tank, concrete flooring and doors — should be completed the first week of May.
