WHAT: City council meeting Monday

PRESENT: Deidre Petrosky, Kevin Piros, James Edwards, Kathy Fleischer, Patti Keller, Scott Rowley and Mayor James Woofter

ABSENT: Don Moore

Council:

• Approved advertising for bids for asphalt resurfacing this summer. Streets scheduled are Woodview, Roseway, Arbor and South Colonial. Woofter said if extra money is available, they also are looking at sections of Lakeview, Beechwood and Cricket Lane;

• Declared property at 211 Cricket Lane as a public nuisance and referring the property to the Trumbull County Land Bank for taxes that have not been paid. Woofter said the property has been vacated and water turned off since 2015 with no maintenance done for several years. Petrosky said the city can deal with nuisance properties, including contacting the health department and exterior maintenance violations;

• Heard from Woofter East and West Main will have resurfacing and milling work done this week and take two to three weeks to complete. He said West Main will be repaved from railroad track intersection toward the lake and East Main will be paved from site of new bridge construction to city limits near state Route11;

• Heard from Woofter officials are interviewing for a company to handle IT services. Two companies have been reviewing the city’s computer system, equipment and department needs and then will return with quotes;

• Approved an update to the purchasing procedure for items ordered by department heads increasing the amount from $2,500 to $5,000 without needing council’s approval;

• Announced scrap tire collection 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday through April 23 at the service garage at Willow Park with a limit of eight passenger tires per vehicle;

• Announced spring cleanup is May 2 and 3 with items placed with regular trash collection at curbside.
