Man receives littering citation
WARREN — Littering can be expensive, especially when done during a record check in front of a police officer.
Tyrei M. Farley, 20, 345 Cornell Ave., Youngstown, learned that lesson Monday night while parked outside the Hampshire House apartments when an off-duty police officer working in the housing complex asked him and other passengers in the car for their identification, according to a police report.
While the officer was checking the ID’s to determine whether they were on a no trespass list for the apartments, Farley threw a plastic wrapper out of the car window onto the ground, the report states.
Farley was removed from the car and given a summons to appear in court on a charge of littering. He pleaded no contest and was found guilty on a littering charge during a hearing Tuesday before Warren Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak. He was fined $135 including court costs, court records show.
