NE Ohio gasoline prices rise
WARREN — Gas prices in northeast Ohio are 6 cents more expensive this week at $2.22 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
The Warren-Youngstown area is right at the average $2.22 per gallon, while the average price is 1 cent greater in Niles. The average price this time last year was $2.31 per gallon.
Gas prices are 4 to 16 cents more expensive on the week across the Great Lakes and Central states mostly due to ongoing refinery maintenance and tightening inventory, according to AAA. Eleven states in the region have averages that are 5 cents or more expensive since last week, including Ohio.
Nationally, the average increased 6 cents to $2.33 per gallon. The increase is the largest one-week increase at the national level this year. The price is 9 cents above last month, but 19 cents less than this time last year.
