NAACP holds history series Friday through Sunday
WARREN — Trumbull County NAACP will hold its annual “Black History” series with several events and activities scheduled Friday through Sunday by the local chapter of the NAACP at Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road, Warren. On Friday, the museum and vendor expo is 5 to 9 p.m. with a program on history of jazz and hip hop with live jazz music 7 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, the museum and vendor expo is 1 to 7 p.m. with open stage performances 3 to 7 p.m. featuring musician Darius Simmons. Roundtable discussion is 2 to 3 p.m. with Michael McGee, a Pan-African historian, and Dr. Kimberly Jackson Pinn D.O., Precious Ball NAACP youth president. On Sunday, a museum, soul food and vendor expo is 1 to 7 p.m. with special guest Pastor Ronald Fowlis, who will speak on “The History of the Black Church in Civil Rights.”
