WHAT: Board of Education special meeting Tuesday

The Board:
• Approved reopening the retirement incentive program for certified and classified workers in the district’s union who have until 4 p.m. Nov. 26 to inform the board of plans to retire by May 31, 2019. If notified by Nov. 26, certified employees will receive $250 in addition to the retirement incentive, which is between $8,000 and $12,500 based on number of years with the district. Superintendent Joseph Nohra said there are five to six employees near the end of their careers who have expressed interest in retiring;
• Reported K-12 School Consultants has sent out cards to homeowners in the township to verify residency for students and what schools they attend such as another district through open enrollment, an online school or private school through a voucher. “Other school district have been very aggressive with this and we need to be also to see if there is funding. This could be some financial gains for us,” he said.
Nohra said the police department is aware a firm will be going door-to-door.
