Woman accused of assaulting man with wood

WARREN — A woman accused of assaulting a man with a piece of wood during a fight was arrested Monday night.

Kaytia Harris, 26, 1200 Roberts Ave. NW, Apt. J9, was arrested on a charge of felonious assault, according to a police report. Harris, who is in the Trumbull County Jail with a bond set at $15,000, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court, court records state.

Police were called at 10:45 p.m. to 1220 Roberts Ave. NW, Apt. G10, for a fight and they met Harris, who told them her boyfriend was inside cleaning up after the fight. Her boyfriend, Dandre Smith, told police he went to apartment G10 to confront Kevin Miller about accusations of car theft.

Miller and Smith started to fight and Miller was on top of Smith during the fight, the report states. Harris came into the hallway where the two were fighting and and she hit Miller several times across the head with a large piece of wood, the report states.

Miller, who was covered in blood with a laceration to his head, ran to the apartment office to get away from the attack, the report states. Miller also appeared to have bite marks on his chest, the report states.

On the way to the jail, Harris was accused of sending threatening text messages to someone and she could face additional charges, the report states.
