Blown transformer blamed for outage
WARREN — A transformer blew near downtown Warren around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, knocking out power to hundreds of customers, including the Tribune Chronicle on Franklin Street SE ; the Warren Police Department on South Street SE, and Trumbull Regional Medical Center on East Market Street.
Ohio Edison said approximately 1,100 customers were without power at the peak of the outage, but about half had been restored by 10:30 p.m. They estimated the rest would be restored between 12:01 a.m. and 2 a.m. today.
No one from the hospital could be reached to see how the outage affected patient care.
