• Heard from residents of North Leavitt Road concerned about a “nuisance property” at 597 N. Leavitt Road with high grass, rats and other problems. Anthony said the matter is being addressed and LaBrae Local School District officials were notified this week of possible bed bug problem at the location. Yoho said he will contact the county health department since it was already declared a nuisance;

• Hired Benjamin Esposito as a part-time police officer at $11 per hour effective Aug. 6;

• Accepted resignations of part-time police officers Jason Lamtman and Brian Delia. Delia was hired recently as a full-time officer in Liberty;

• Passed a motion objecting to renewal of a liquor permit for J&L Lounge, 1957 Highland Ave. SW. Anthony said there have been problems at the location and police have been called;

• Heard from Bishop Road residents about problems with four-wheelers, dirt bikes and golf carts on the roads some with young children not wearing helmets. The vehicles were reported on Turner, Pendelton, Bishop and Meadowbrook roads, creating problems for motorists;

• Renewed health insurance with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield effective Aug. 1 at $14,471 per month;

• Announced volunteers can assist 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at the township building with local Make A Difference Day events.
