Woman accused of assault

Allegedly kicked officer in the face

WARREN — An Orwell woman accused of assaulting a police officer and lying about her identity is in jail and has pleaded not guilty to charges of felonious assault and falsification.

Tiffany Uher, 30, of 154 Maple St., was arrested around 5 a.m. Wednesday after police were called to Convenient Food Mart, 1409 Elm Road, about a woman believed to be on drugs who was behind the store yelling and screaming, a report states.

Warren police officer Richard Kovach tried to speak with Uher, who provided a false name, but she walked away, the report states. Kovach handcuffed Uher and as he was walking her to the police car, she began to yell and pull away, the report states.

Uher struggled with Kovach as he was trying to get her into the police car and she kicked him on the right side of the face and injured his jaw, a report states. More police arrived, and they were able to get Uher in the cruiser, the report states.

At the jail, Uher admitted she gave a false name because she has a warrant for her arrest, the report states.

She is due back in Warren Municipal Court on Tuesday before Judge Terry Ivanchak, court records show.
