Man sleeping in wrong house fails to show up in court

WARREN — A warrant for the arrest of Matthew E. Wilson, 33, 439 Washington St. NE, who police said they found sleeping in the wrong house was issued Monday after the man failed to show up for his arraignment in Warren Municipal Court.

Wilson had been arrested on a charge of burglary shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday after he was found sleeping on the floor of 370 Washington St. SE. The back door of the house had been kicked in, a police report states.

Wilson told police he thought it was his home.

He had been arrested previously on charges of attempting to break into different Washington Street residences. He pleaded no contest and was found guilty of a charge of disorderly conduct in that case.
