Unknown amount of money stolen from local morgue in early May

WARREN — Police are investigating a report that money was stolen from the county morgue.

A forensic investigator told police Wednesday that between 4 and 10 p.m. May 6 someone removed money from the morgue at Trumbull Regional Medical Center on East Market Street, a report states. The investigator declined to provide additional information because she said the reported theft is still under investigation.

Warren police took the report and the case was referred to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Joseph Dragovich declined to comment and referred questions to Warren police, who are handling the case.

The report does not state how much money was reported missing.
