WHAT: Township trustee meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Rick Clark, Matthew Vansuch and James Lapolla


• Approved the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for summer paving of Avalon Drive, Howland Wilson Road, Stillwagon Road, Echo Lake and Curtis Road. Administrator Darlene St. George said the $384,221 project will be covered by $149,846 Issue 1 project;

• Announced a “food truck event” will be held 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Richard Orwig Park off East Market Street with food trucks and music;

• Purchased two 2018 Ford pickup trucks for $47,488 from Walt Sweeney Ford through state cooperative purchasing;

• Purchased a street sweeper / catch basin cleaner fort $240,000 from Jack Dohney Companies through state cooperative purchasing, with final payment of $48,272 to be made in April 2019;

• Purchased three Ford Explorers at $86,787 from Lebanon Ford through state purchasing;

• Heard from resident on Adrian Drive where a house was burned about keeping the driveway. Trustees said under Home Rule, the driveway can stay, but the burned home, a shed and fencing and other accessory buildings on property must be torn down;

• Approved supporting the county’s application for community development block critical infrastructure grant for Basswood, Elmwood, Thornwood, Ashwood, and Beechwood avenues in the township. Howland will provide $51,843 toward the $518,437 project.
