CHURCH HELPS MOTORISTS: Chestnut Ridge Church of God in Hubbard is partnering with Devine’s Shop and Save Express Gas Station, corner of North Main Street and West Park Avenue, Hubbard, to sponsor a ”Gas Buy-Down” where the price of gas from 10 a.m. to noon today will be reduced by 35 cents. Church members will pump gas to fill tanks or two five-gallon containers and also wash vehicle windows.

COMMUNITY FEST: Kingdom Community Fest will be today in the field across from Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, 2618 Niles Road, Warren. The event will include free groceries, school supplies and clothing, and praise and worship. There will be a Kid Zone with a bounce house. Speakers are Pastor David Henderson of Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ at 10 a.m., Pastors Edward and Margie Flanagan at 10:15 a.m., Pastor Vincent Peterson of Providence Baptist Church at 11 a.m., Pastor Phillip Shealey of Greater Apostolic Faith Church at noon, Pastor Edward Flanagan at 1 p.m., DreVatne Baldridge, a Christian rapper, at 2 p.m. and Changed gospel group of Alpha and Omega Seventh-day Adventist Church at 2:30 p.m.

BOOKBAG GIVEAWAY: York Avenue Church of God, 872 York Ave SW, Warren, will hold a bookbag and school supply giveaway 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

EVENING OF SONG: St. Rose Church in Girard will hold an Evening of Prayer and Song 7 p.m. today.

CHURCH HOMECOMING: Bristolville Freewill Baptist Church, 2087 Greenville Road, will mark the 54th homecoming 10 a.m. Sunday. Guest pastors are Ferlie Yates and Ron Parsons.

SIXTH ANNIVERSARY: Trinity Baptist Church, 235 Highland Ave., Warren, is celebrating the sixth anniversary of the Rev. Darryl L. Rodgers Sr. 11 a.m. Sunday. Featured speaker is the Rev. Leo Ferguson and musical guests will be Zion’s Joy of Indianapolis.

EXTRAVAGANZA: A Birthday Bash Extravaganza with live entertainment will be 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Jericho Center, 2787 Meadville Road, Cortland. UNITED FOR CHANGE: Valley Voices United for Change will hold a vigil as part of a day of solidarity in the Mahoning Valley 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown. Members of multiple religions, races and ethnicities will be in attendance.

The “Vigil Against Hate” is one of thousands held across the country this week to oppose the violent protests by alt right groups, including the Ku Klux Klan and neo Nazis last weekend in Charlottesville, Va., that left one woman dead. By gathering together at the vigil, members of the community will stand against hate and send the message that the majority of Americans living in the Mahoning Valley and beyond believe in peace, unity, acceptance and equality.

JOY CONCERT: New Covenant Baptist Church, 1606 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, will hold a Zion’s Joy Concert 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

MEN’S DAY: York Avenue Church Of God, 872 York Ave SW, Warren, will hold its annual Men’s Day 5 p.m. Sunday. The theme is ”Stewards of God” with speaker Pastor Jim Roma of the Wintergreen Ledges Church Of God.

CONCERT EVENT: Corner House Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, will host Rod Truman in concert 6 p.m. Sunday.

PASTORAL:ANNIVERSARY: The Bethesda Church of the Living God Inc. will honor Pastor Cicero Battee (wife Michelle Battee) on his 31st pastoral anniversary 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 and 6 p.m. Aug. 26 and 27 at Sevent-d ay Adventist Church, 1645 North Road, Warren.

Guests are Pastors Claude and Serina Brooks, Holy Spirit CLGI, Akron; Pastor Derrick Moore, Chose Generation CLGI, Pittsburgh; Pool of Bethesda CLGI, Columbus; Dr. Bishop Joseph White, Presiding Bishop of the Church of the Living God Inc.

SERVICE BATTALION: Joshua Toth will be presented the Herald of Christ achievement award at a ceremony Monday at North-Mar Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Joshua is a member of North-Mar’s Christian Service Brigade, Battalion Unit 1180 and successfully completed all the requirements necessary to receive the highest honor awarded by Christian Service Brigade. Dale Kinkade, regional director for CSB Ministries, will present the award.

The Herald of Christ is designed to help prepare young men for a life of leadership and service. Joshua, a resident of Newton Falls and the son of Ron and Tamara Toth, is a student at Liberty University.

GUIDED WALK: The Ursuline Center, 4250 Shields Road, Canfield, will hold a guided labyrinth walk 6:30 p.m. Thursday.The theme is deepening your friendship with God.

HOLOCAUST EVENT: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will host a program “A Virtual Reality Tour of the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem” presented by Dr. Tim Crain. The presentation will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Villa Maria Community Center located in Villa Maria, Pa. on Evergreen Road. It is sponsored by the Rev. George Balasko as part of the Annual Nostra Aetate Lecture Series.

Crain will lead a virtual tour of the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem and explore the reason why we need to remember. Free-will offerings will be accepted. Register at t www.vmesc.org or call 724-964-8886.

STATUE VISITS CHURCH: St. Stephen Parish, 129 W. Park Ave., Niles, is hosting the United Nations International Pilgrim Virgin Statue Fatima Centennial Tour 9 a.m.to 7 p..m. Friday. The visit begins with Mass at 9 a.m. celebrated by the Rev. Richard Murphy. The rosary will be recited after Mass. The rosary also will be said at noon ( Patriotic rosary), 2 p.m.(Eucharistic rosary) and at 6 p.m. Adoration of the statue will occur 2 to 3 p.m.

This is one of four statues sculpted according to the specifications of Sister Lucia.All four statues were blessed by Pope Pius XII on May 13,1947. The Bishop of Fatima sent them out into the world to proclaim the message of Fatima. This statue was brought to the United States from Fatima on Dec. 8, 1952, specifically for the United Nations.

GOSPEL SING: An all-day Gospel Sing will be 1 to 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Jericho Center, 2878 Warren-Meadville Road, Cortland. Ten or more groups will perform bluegrass gospel, country gospel and southern gospel music throughout the day. Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be received. Concessions will be available. The event is hosted by the Golden Street Singers.

FAMILY FUN: Cortland Church of Christ, 2330 Bazetta Road NE, will hold a Night of Family Fun 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 27. There will be food, music, a magic show, games, a bake sale and 50-50 raffle. Call 330-240-2198.

DOCUMENTARY: Cortland Trinity Baptist Church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road, will show the documentary “It’s Only Cookie Dough” 2 p.m. Aug. 27. It is the true account of the economic turnaround in Lynch, Ky., a town where 10,000 people once gathered from around the world to extract high quality coal that fueled wartime steel production. But after the war, decisions made afar devastated Appalachia, putting thousands of men out of work. Admission is free. A love offering for the Sentinel Group, producers of the documentary, will be received.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY: First Baptist Church-Braceville, 1300 Cedar St. SW, will celebrate its 94th church anniversary 4 p.m. Aug. 27. The theme is “A Church Built on a Solid Rock.” Guest speaker is the Rev. Joseph Walker, pastor of the Restoration Christian Fellowship.

BENEFIT CONCERT: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a concert 6 p.m. Aug. 27 with Paul Todd and Paul Todd Jr. Proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. For tickets, call 330-743-4144.

END OF SUMMER EVENT: First Church of God, 426 W. Broad St., Newton Falls, will hold an End of Summer Singspiration 4 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27. Vocalists from churches in the community will perform songs of praise. An offering will be collected and given to the Church Mouse in Newton Falls. Those attending can bring a lawn chair.

CONCERT PLANNED: Stevens Family Concert Series will present The Whisnants 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Liberty. A love offering also will be received.
