Braceville man arrested in assault

BRACEVILLE — A Braceville man was arrested Monday after a man was stabbed in the face after a fight at a Westgate Drive home.

Ronald Gearin, 52, 853 Braceville Robinson Road, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of felonious assault, according to Newton Falls Municipal Court records. Jail records show he remains in custody at the Trumbull County Jail pending the posting of a $10,000 bond. Judge Phil Vigorito also ordered Gearin not to have contact with the victim.

Trumbull County Sheriff’s reports states two men got into a fight about 7 p.m. with a 46-year old man getting a swollen eye and split nose. The victim, who told deputies he was cut with a boxcutter knife, was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, the report states.

Gearin was later arrested by Braceville police at his home.
