CHAMPION — A Champion man was killed Wednesday evening after crashing his motorcycle on state Route 5.

David Goberish was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson east on Route 5 around 7:30 p.m. when he drove off the left side of the road and struck the median cable barrier, according to a report from the Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, the patrol report states.
