Weathersfield readies for 2025 paving projects

WEATHERSFIELD — The Trumbull County Engineer’s Office is preparing for the paving of County Line Road and West Webb Road in Weathersfield.

County Engineer Randy Smith said plans for 2025 are to mill and resurface 1.56 miles of County Line Road from State Route 46 to Four Mile Run Road and 0.69 miles of West Webb Road from Depot Street to the Mahoning County line.

Additional work includes the replacement of three culverts. One is located on County Line Road between state Route 46 and Carver Niles Road, another on West Webb Road between Depot Street and state Route 46 and a third on Carver Niles Road at the intersection of County Line Road.

Smith said the project also proposes partial-depth pavement repairs, reconstruction and installation of several catch basins, with associated storm-sewer pipe and the application of edge, center and stop lines and other pavement markings throughout the newly paved sections of County Line Road and West Webb Road.

Construction on the $1,081,500 project is scheduled to begin in the spring or summer of 2025.

Officials said during construction, traffic will be maintained at all times on County Line Road and West Webb Road, except when it will be necessary to close them for 14 consecutive days during the replacement of each culvert.

The official detour route for the closure of County Line Road will utilize state Route 46, Ohltown McDonald Road, Salt Springs Road and Carver Niles Road.

The official detour route for the closure of West Webb Road will utilize state Route 46 and Depot Street.

Officials said the closures will not occur simultaneously.

Access will be maintained to all adjacent properties, businesses and intersecting side streets within the constriction limits during the duration of the project.

Smith is currently seeking comments from the public regarding the project.
