Second death reported on Tod Avenue NW

WARREN — A Tod Avenue NW man was arraigned on felony charges connected to the discovery of an unresponsive man found after 9 p.m. Wednesday at a 3745 Tod address.

The incident was the second death investigated by Warren police that occurred on Tod NW on Wednesday.

Peter G. Kleiner, 59, of 4756 Valley Hills Drive, Ravenna, was found at the 3745 Tod address and first responders could not locate a pulse on him. The police report did not provide any other details about the incident.

A news release from Warren detectives Friday, however, stated that the investigation is continuing and additional charges may be pending after reports of Kleiner’s autopsy and toxicology exam are completed.

The office of Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Lawrence D’Amico, which stated Kleiner was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, said Friday a report of the cause of death is pending. Detectives were notified about 10:15 p.m. to come to the scene to investigate, the 911 report states.

By 4 a.m. Thursday, the report states, search warrants were obtained for the residence and DNA of one of the suspects.

Theodore Baiduc, 57, of the Tod Avenue residence, was arraigned Thursday in Warren Municipal Court on charges of tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice. Judge Thomas Gysegem ordered Baiduc held without bond because he is a flight risk. Baiduc is scheduled to be back in Gysegem’s court on Dec. 9.

OTHER CASE

Also, the coroner’s office said a report is pending on the slaying of Bernard Owens, 51, who was pronounced dead around 11 a.m. Wednesday after first responders could not resuscitate him on the fifth floor of the Riverview apartment complex on Tod Avenue NW. The man charged with murder in that case, Cedrick Patterson, 40, is being held without bond after pleading not guilty to the murder charge Thursday in Warren Municipal Court.

Police would not say if the two incidents Wednesday within miles and hours of each other on Tod Avenue NW were related.
