Mon. 12:29 p.m.: Man pleads not guilty in connection to Sept. 6 shooting

WARREN – A McMyler Street NW man pleaded not guilty this morning to a charge of felonious assault in connection to the shooting of a 37-year-old man earlier this month, according to police and court records.

Da’Reuan Pennock, 19, is being held in the Trumbull County jail. He was arrested Friday on the charge. Warren Municipal Court Judge Terry F. Ivanchak set bond at $100,000 this morning and set a hearing for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

Police were called Sept. 9 to 707 Adelaide Ave. on reports a man was shot. Ryan Powell, 37, Transylvania Avenue SE, was injured and sitting on the porch. He was taken by ambulance for treatment. Officers searched for a suspect at the time but did not locate them, according to a report.
