Fri. 10 a.m.: Warren man jailed on weapons charges
WARREN — A man with a bloody face who told police he was “sucker punched” Friday morning on Pine Avenue SE was charged with weapons violations.
Ahmad L. Eggleston, 28, 2129 Draper Ave. SE, was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital to have his cuts on his tongue and around his left eye treated.
Eggleston was sitting in a white Chevrolet parked behind a SUV outside the Horsehoe Bar about 2:30 a.m. as police answered a disturbance call.
A search of Eggleston’s vehicle found a 9mm black Ruger in the back pocket of the front driver’s seat and several magazines of ammunition. An officer also recovered four spent shell casings on the ground near the front driver’s door of Eggleston’s vehicle, the report states.
Eggleston was arraigned Friday morning on charges of discharging firearms and carrying a concealed weapon. He will have a preliminary hearing Aug. 16 before Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak.
Records showed Eggleston was booked into the Trumbull County jail shortly after 7:30 a.m. Friday.
