Tue. 10:35 a.m.: Police say teen girls went into home to fight

WARREN — Two teen girls were arrested on Monday afternoon after being accused of walking into an Iowa Avenue NW home and beating up a 16-year-old girl.

Officers were dispatched to the fight about 4:15 p.m. and encountered two girls walking on Ward Street near Ohio Avenue NW. One of the girls, 14, told officers the victim was making fun of her 11-year-old sister. In retaliation, the girl said she took her 17-year-old friend and went to the girl’s Iowa Avenue home.

When the two girls saw people inside the home, the report states, they told officers they walked in and started fighting with the 16-year-old.

The victim’s mother told officers she tried to keep the girls from entering the house but couldn’t. The mother reported her television was damaged during the altercation. Both girls punched the 16-year-old several times each and the fight was broken up by the victim’s brother. There were no serious injuries.

Both girls were taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center, and officers will consult with the prosecutor about filing charges, the report states.
