High Street man accused of punching nurse
WARREN – A High Street man has been ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after he was accused of punching a Trumbull Regional Medical Center nurse in the face on Tuesday.
Matthew J. Wagner, 23, of 320 High St. NE, was arraigned on two assault charges Tuesday before Warren Municipal Judge Terry Ivanchak, who ordered he have no contact with the nurse and be held without bond. This morning, Ivanchak granted a motion to have a psychological evaluation for the defendant.
According to a police report, Wagner was at the hospita shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for a mental evaluation when he allegedly struck a 33-year-old female nurse. The nurse told a police officer the man started yelling at her and when she tried to calm him down, he tried to punch her in the face. The nurse said the punch grazed the top of her head near the eyebrows and she said she was not injured.
