Census data collection ends today

WARREN – Today is the last day to respond to the 2020 Census. Though the final day has changed several times due to court orders, it was first scheduled for Sept. 30 and then moved to Oct. 31, the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday the Trump administration could end the count.

The Census Bureau will accept responses on the internet until 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time, which is 5:59 a.m. here in Eastern Daylight Time on Friday. To fill out the Census online, visit 2020Census.gov.

People may respond by phone from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., by calling 844-330-2020 for English, and 844-468-2020 for Spanish.

If responding by paper, the response forms must be postmarked by today.

Census counters are expected to halt their in-person door knocking efforts today.
