Gyms win COVID-related lawsuit, allowed to open

A Lake County Common Pleas Court judge ruled today in favor of 35 gyms that filed a lawsuit against the Ohio Department of Health and its director, Dr. Amy Acton, for ordering them to close during the statewide stay-at-home order. Judge Eugene Lucci granted a preliminary injunction blocking the state from taking action against gyms that reopened.

The ruling allows the gyms to open immediately. The state had lifted a restriction on the gyms allowing them to reopen next Tuesday.
