Braceville to issue felony warrants for man who rear-ended officer
BRACEVILLE – Police will be issuing multiple felony charges to a man who rear ended an officer Thursday night and is still at large, according to Braceville Township police chief Josh Rudesill.
A large landscaping pickup truck fled a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Ravenna Warren Road and then rear-ended a police cruiser after 10 p.m. Thursday. The truck fled again, driving through several backyards and a fence before crashing in a yard on Ravenna Warren Road. The driver then fled on foot.
Joseph M. Dempsey Jr., 33, was identified by witnesses as the driver of the pickup truck. Prior to the incident, he had five warrants for his arrest through Warren and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, according to Rudesill. Braceville will be issuing additional warrants for Dempsey.
The officer who was rear-ended had only minor injuries and is doing okay, according to Rudesill.
