Ohio virus spread — by the numbers
Gov. Mike DeWine said Sunday that Ohio now has more than 1,600 confirmed cases and 29 deaths, up by four deaths from the day before.
The Mahoning Valley death toll remained at 5, two each in Trumbull and Mahoning counties and one in Columbiana County.
The governor said there have been more than 100 people admitted for treatment in Ohio hospitalsá intensive care units.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, or death.
