COVID-19 in Ohio: Eight dead, 564 confirmed cases

COLUMBUS — There are 564 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, the Ohio Department of Health reported today in its 2 p.m. daily update. That’s up from 442 cases Monday.

There are eight dead as of today, up from six on Monday.

Two of the dead are in Cuyahoga County, two in Franklin, and one each in Erie, Galia, Lucas and Stark counties.

There are 28 cases in Mahoning County compared to 23 on Monday. There are four cases in Trumbull County, up by one since Monday, and three in Columbiana County, one more than Monday.

Portage County went up from two to four confirmed cases; Geauga County up from two to five; and Ashtabula County remained at three.

Statewide, 145 people have been hospitalized because of the coronavirus as of today. The number was 104 Monday.
