2 p.m. Ohio update: COVID-19 fatalities increase; 3 more in one day in Valley

COLUMBUS — There are 39 COVID-19 deaths in Ohio, including eight in the Mahoning Valley.

Three more deaths in the Valley were reported today: two in Mahoning County and one in Columbiana County, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s daily 2 p.m. update.

Overall, there are four deaths in Mahoning County and two each in Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

There were 29 reported deaths from the virus in the state Sunday.

There are 1,933 confirmed cases of the virus in the state today, up from 1,653 Sunday, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

Also, there are 117 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mahoning County today, up from 84 Sunday.

There are 42 confirmed cases in Trumbull County today, up from 36 Sunday.

In Columbiana County, there are 13 cases, up from 11 a daily earlier.

Statewide, 475 people have been hospitalized as of today because of novel coronavirus, up from 403 Sunday.

There are 163 people in intensive-care unites with COVID-19, up from 139 a day earlier.
