Tues. 1:25 p.m.: Man shot in attempted bank robbery indicted

WARREN – A man who was shot by a police officer during a bank robbery attempt was indicted today by a Trumbull County grand jury.

Dabraylin Hawkins, 23, Duncan Lane, Youngstown, is charged with aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, felonious assault with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence and carrying a concealed weapon.

He is expected to be arraigned in the next two weeks by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Andrew D. Logan, according to court records.

A federal grand jury in Youngstown is considering a charge of armed bank robbery against Hawkins, who is being held in federal custody, according to U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio records.

Hawkins was shot twice July 25 by Liberty police officer George Bednar, who was working off-duty in uniform at Home Savings bank, 3500 Belmont Ave., Liberty.
