Tue. 12:51 p.m.: County issues emergency proclamation for Kinsman

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners voted today to issue an emergency proclamation, expected to be ratified at Wednesday’s meeting, for the area where 55 people were displaced when the Kinsman Lake dam broke Saturday, washing out the only access road to numerous properties on Lakeview Drive in Kinsman.

The proclamation will be sent to the office of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for their consideration, said Linda Beil, director of the Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency.

There is a rough estimate of $3 million in damage to the roads and bridges in Saturdays flooding in Kinsman, Gustavus and Greene, Beil said. There is not yet an estimate of the damage to the affected private property yet, Beil said. DeWine and the state agency will determine how much funding the area receives, Beil said.

Those who want to report damage should call 211, the Call Help Network of Northeast Ohio, to report the damage. Reporters should be prepared to provide their name, address, contact number and type of damage.
