Mon. 7 a.m.: Country music super star Blake Shelton to headline Y Live

YOUNGSTOWN – Blake Shelton, a judge on “The Voice” and five-time winner of best male vocalist from the Country Music Association, will be the headliner for the third Y Live concert Sept. 21 at Youngstown State University’s Stambaugh Stadium.

Zac Brown sold more than 15,000 tickets for the first Y Live concert in 2017, co-promoted by JAC Live and the Muransky Companies, at the football stadium in 2017, and Florida-Georgia Line sold out last year’s event.

Shelton’s latest single, “God’s Country,” currently tops the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He’s had more than 25 singles top either the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts since the release of his self-titled debut in 2001.

Joining him on the bill will be Justin Moore and Tyler Farr.

Moore’s next album, “Late Nights and Longnecks,” will be released July 26. His last three albums have topped the country charts and spawned five number one hits.

Farr is best known for such country hits as “Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water” and “A Guy Walks into a Bar.”

The concert is presented by Southwoods Health, Huntington Bank, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, The DeBartolo Corporationand Youngstown State University and Penguin Productions.

Tickets for the 7 p.m. concert range from $45 to $139.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 12 at the Covelli Centre’s Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster. Gold Circle tickets also will be available.

YSU students will be able to purchase up to two discounted tickets for the concert. Details will be announced soon.
