Mon. 1:40 p.m.: Appeal denied for deceased killer
WARREN – The 11th District Court of Appeals in a ruling issued today rejected an appeal filed by attorneys for Nasser Hamad, leaving stand the dead man’s conviction on aggravated murder and attempted murder charges.
Joshua Haber, 19, and Joshua Williams, 20, were killed Feb. 25, 2017, outside of Hamad’s state Route 46 home. April Vokes, 43; John Shively, 17; and Bryce Hendrickson, 20, were injured. Hendrickson was found dead of an apparent drug overdose later.
Hamad, who was sentenced to 30-years-to-life in prison, died in prison in September of cancer. Even though he died, his attorneys appealed his conviction.
