Wed. 2:55 p.m.: Warren teen held in connection to death

WARREN – A Warren teen will be detained in the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center pending charges of murder and felonious assault expected to filed in Trumbull County Juvenile Court before a Monday hearing.

Dareonte Carmichael, 16, Warren, came before juvenile justice Magistrate Terry Swauger for the detention hearing 1 p.m. today. He is expected to appear 10 a.m. Monday before Swauger to hear the charges filed against him, in a plea hearing.

Carmichael was arrested after reports of a shooting 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 400 block of Maryland Ave. NW in the Warren Heights area.

Jackqwuan K. Williams, 25, 725 Webb Ave. SW, and Shyhiem W. Williams, 1180 Roberts Ave., Apt. G1, both of Warren, were shot, according to police.

One of the two were killed and another injured. Police and the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office have not identified the name of the person killed.

Carmichael’s mother appeared at the hearing and the two briefly spoke to one another before the hearing began. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. Carmichael wore a dark blue justice center uniform and was handcuffed.
