Tue. 1:28 p.m.: $1.9M given to YSU to create scholarship program
YOUNGSTOWN – The estate of Ned Kaufman, a Youngstown State University alum and former local teacher, has donated $1.9 million to establish a scholarship in honor of his parents.
The Donald and Ann Kaufman Scholarship in Education will provide $80,000 a year in assistance for students studying in the YSU Beeghly College of Education. The college enrolls nearly 1,000 undergraduate students and nearly 300 graduate students in teacher education, counseling, school psychology and educational leadership programs.
