Thu. 10:19 a.m.: Stambaugh announces Mellencamp concert
John Mellencamp brings his art to Youngstown next week, and he’ll bring his music in early 2019.
Mellencamp will perform Feb. 19 at Stambaugh Auditorium. The tour, billed as “The John Mellencamp Show,” will feature a mix of hits and new material. According to the press release, shows will start promptly at 8 p.m. with no opening act.
Every ticket purchased online will include a physical copy of Mellencamp’s upcoming album “Other People’s Stuff” set for release on Nov. 16.
“Expressionist,” an exhibition of Mellencamp’s art, opens Thursday at the Butler Institute of American Art, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with attend a members-only opening reception. His work previous was shown at the Butler Trumbull Branch in Howland in 2013. Mellencamp performed at the Canfield Fair in 2017.
