Wed. 5 p.m.: Two Trumbull locations test positive for West Nile

The Trumbull County Combined Health District said today that two mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

One sample was taken from the Western Reserve Greenway Bike Trail in Champion and the other was taken from the Community Center in Newton Falls, according to a press release from the health department, which received the results from the Ohio Department of Health.

There have been no reported cases of West Nile Virus in Trumbull County, but health officials said the community must protect themselves from being bitten by a mosquito now that the virus has been detected.
