WEST FARMINGTON – The nine World War II rifles and three safes stolen Sunday from VFW Post 7200 have been recovered, investigators said today.

Sgt. Mike Yannucci, a detective with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, said police in Howland and in Weathersfield helped recover the safe and the guns. The money remains missing, Yannucci said.

More details are expected to be released Friday morning at a press conference at the police department in Weathersfield.
