SANTA CLAUS COMES TO TOWN: Santa Claus will arrive at the Eastwood Mall in Niles noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the center concourse. The event will include the Salvation Army and its Red Kettle kickoff, followed by Ballet Western Reserve and its Nutcracker performance. There will be a Nutcracker tea party at the aquarium. There will also be a performance at the Snowflake Stage from Castle on a Cloud to ring in Santa’s arrival.

TURNPIKE PILGRIMAGE TOUR: The Warren-Ashtabula 90th anniversary Turnpike Pilgrimage Tour will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Triyounity, 239 Main Ave. SW, Warren. Admission is free.

The event is an education-based learning field trip of the Underground Railroad and Colored Civil War Veterans of Eastern Ohio. The tour includes a moderate amount of walking; comfortable shoes are recommended. To register, call 330-373-8395 or email bracevilleplatt.org.

TURKEY RAFFLE: Braceville Fire Department will hold a turkey raffle 7 p.m. Thursday at the township fire department.

TRUSTEE ASSOCIATION TO MEET: The Trumbull Township Association will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at Harford Methodist Church, 6846 state Route 305, hosted by Hartford Township. Social is at 6 p.m., with Thanksgiving dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a meeting to follow.

COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE: Drop off locations for food donations to help local families through Second Harvest Food bank include Art On Park, 180 N. Park Ave. (early afternoon on Sundays); Modern Methods Brewing Co., 125 Dave Grohl Alley (2 to 8 p.m.); Urban Tap, 439 E. Market St. (noon to 10 p.m.); CharBenay’s Wine On the River, 220 W. Market (4 to 8 p.m.); and Triyounity, 239 Main Ave. SW (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

There will be a drive-by dropoff 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in Courthouse Square. Good Trouble Trumbull volunteers will collect donations from vehicles.

There is also a need for unopened cat and dog food.

SOUND BATH: Unity Spiritual Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will hold a sound bath at 7 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Maria and Calvin Wagner of the Center for Sound Therapy in Boardman.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to dress comfortably and bring pillows or blankets as desired. A love offering of $20 is suggested. For questions, call 330-539-0122.

OAK HILL CEMETERY TOUR: The stories of the Civil War soldiers buried in the soldiers lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, 344 Oakhill Ave., Youngstown, will be shared noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery. The tour will be led by historian, Steffon Jones, and genealogy and local history librarian, Elizabeth Carahan.

LANGUAGE CONNECTION: The McKinley Memorial Library will present “Unlock the Secret Language of Connection with Supercommunicator Charles Duhigg,” streamed live online at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit and Smarter Faster Better, presents a guide on how to communicate and connect with anyone at work, home and in life, in his latest work, Supercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection. Presented in partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium.

COPING WITH GRIEF: McKinley Memorial Library will present “Coping with Grief During the Holidays,” 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles, a one-time grief support session for anyone mourning the loss of a loved one during the holiday season. Presented by LSW Bereavement Facilitator Kimberly Calhoun from Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley by Compassus. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.
