Apples abound in Lordstown

FESTIVAL: The Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Lordstown school grounds, corner of state Route 45 and Salt Springs Road. The festival will include a parade, rides, fireworks, cornhole tournament, food vendors and craft show. The Lordstown Lions Club will make fresh apple cider. There will be a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Saturday. Also Saturday is the Baby Apple and prince and princess pageant at noon and magic show by Eric Thompson at 4 p.m. The parade is at 3 p.m. Sunday along Salt Springs Road with a reptile show at 4:30 p.m. and 50 / 50 drawing at 7 p.m.

WHEELMEN RIDE: The 52nd annual Northeast Ohio Center bicycle tour sponsored by the Outspokin’ Wheelman Bicycling Club will be Sunday, with riders to assemble between 7 and 10 a.m. at the Moose Lodge on state Route 46 in Mecca. There will be a 10-mile, 26-mile and 50-mile route. Registration deadline is today by calling 330-550-3621.

FARM HISTORY: The Braceville 250 Group will host a Braceville Farm History Day at noon Sunday at Kuchta Farms, 4785 state Route 82. Local farmers will be attending to speak about the history of their farms.
