Seeing Eye: Community outreach day planned

COMMUNITY OUTREACH DAY: Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 385 Martin Luther King Blvd., Warren, will hold a Community Outreach Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be a clothing giveaway and free food and drinks.

BUTLER ART PROGRAM: The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown will hold Family Day at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The event will include tours, demonstrations, art making and gallery scavenger hunt. For information call 330-743-1107, ext. 1103.

HOWLAND ROTARY FLAG PROGRAM: The Howland Rotary has the Fly the Flag program, where the public can show their patriotism by flying the flag from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. Rotary members place a flag in your yard before the first holiday in May and after the last holiday in November. A flag will be placed in an 18-inch plastic pipe buried in your yard. ANIME PROGRAM: The Girard Free Library will hold a teen program at 5:30 p.m. Monday to watch an anime show and sample Asian snacks. Registration is required.

DRUG TAKE BACK: The Newton Falls Police Department will be participating in the National Drug Take Back Initiative sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the police department lobby, 19 N. Canal St. Officers will be present in the lobby to accept pills in containers and other medications that are no longer needed. The pills will be placed into a secure container and properly disposed of by the DEA. This is for pills only; no needles or liquids will be accepted.
